State and county leaders will update community on recovery and rebuilding efforts

Sacramento, CA – Details are set for next week’s Lake County Strong Town Hall: A Community Update on Valley Fire Recovery & Rebuilding Efforts. Senator McGuire and Assemblymember Dodd are joining state agency officials, Lake County representatives and non-profit leaders in Middletown on Thursday evening, June 23 for the community-wide update.

Today, he submitted a letter urging the California Coastal Commission to deny this latest proposal and focus on revenue measures to bring long-term stability to the State Parks system which has been starved of funds for years now.

Sacramento, CA – Senator Mike McGuire has introduced a first-of-its-kind bill that will protect California’s beloved whale populations from dangerous entanglements in lost or abandoned crab fishing gear. The legislation was proactively initiated by the thousands of Californian’s who fish Dungeness crab off of the California coast.

With this year’s crab season finally getting underway after a historic delay, and fishermen heading back out to sea, it’s more important than ever to launch this initiative.
