Sacramento, CA – With the Sonoma Developmental Center slated for closure by 2018, nearly 350 of the most medically fragile patients in the state system will transition into the community and require specialized healthcare services. Senator McGuire and Sonoma County Supervisor Susan Gorin have been committed to ensuring that the health and well-being of SDC residents will be the top priority during and after the transition and closure of the facility.




Eureka, CA – The skies opened up and so did the hearts of the Humboldt community on Wednesday when high school students, city councilmembers, business and non-profit leaders, Boy Scouts, and children showed up in the pouring rain to donate OVER one and half TONS of food during Senator McGuire’s first annual  “Drop-off and Donate” food drive event.




Lower Lake, CA – Immediately after the Clayton Fire suddenly changed course and swept through Lower Lake devastating the area, (less than a year after the third worst wildfire in our state’s history had caused devastation in South Lake County) the partners that collaborated to raise over $2.5 million for Valley Fire survivors, moved into action again to raise much-needed funds for Clayton Fire survivors.
