SACRAMENTO –Senate President pro Tempore, Mike McGuire (D-North Coast), today announced the Senate Democratic Leadership Team and committee membership assignments for the 2024 Legislative year. The Senate Rules Committee will ratify the committee memberships on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

SACRAMENTO –  Today, in a ceremony that included his family, members of the California State Senate and Assembly, Governor Gavin Newsom and elected officials, past legislative leaders, and members of the North Coast communities he represents, Senator Mike McGuire (D-North Coast) was sworn in as President pro Tempore of the California State Senate.

Santa Rosa—In the face of a growing need for wildland firefighters, Senate President Designee Mike McGuire has secured $1.5 million to build a new training tower for Santa Rosa Junior College’s Fire Academy.
