Senator McGuire & County of Mendocino to host Redwood Valley Rebuilding Town Hall
Sacramento, CA – Senator Mike McGuire and representatives from the County of Mendocino are coming together for a Redwood Valley Rebuilding Town Hall to provide an update on the Redwood Valley County Water District Reconstruction and Improvement Project.
187 homes in the Water District were destroyed during the Redwood Complex Fire in 2017. (Over 500 total homes and structures were destroyed in that fire.) A portion of the water system needs to be rebuilt with larger water lines to meet modern day building standards and associated water flow requirements.
Significant progress has been made over the past two years: Ground will be broken on the project later this year.
“We’ve been grateful to work in partnership with the County of Mendocino and Redwood Valley neighbors on this critical project. Significant progress has been made, we’ll be breaking ground later this year, and we wanted to provide folks with an update about what to expect in the months to come,” Senator Mike McGuire said. “We hope folks will join us this Thursday evening!”
During this week’s town hall, neighbors will receive critical updates on the reconstruction project, including project scope, budget and timeline, and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers from the community.
