Senator McGuire’s Statement on Governor Newsom’s January Budget Proposal
SACRAMENTO— Senator Mike McGuire issued the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s January budget proposal released earlier today:
“In California, home to America’s most innovative economy, the state’s fiscal outlook has improved over the past six months. That said, we all know more turbulent times are ahead, which is why the Governor’s attention to growing the rainy day fund is critical,” said Senator McGuire. “The Governor’s focus on investing in our kids and public schools, making our communities more wildfire safe, and housing and homelessness is also essential. This is just the first step in the budget process, and the Legislature will be hard at work this year to deliver a balanced and on-time budget.”
