Senator McGuire hosts 2 Community Meetings and a BBQ in 2 days in Trinity County
Sacramento, CA – State Senator Mike McGuire is excited to announce that he will host 2 Community Meetings in 2 days in Trinity County later this month.
On Friday, April 21, Senator McGuire is hosting a Trinity County Town Hall in Weaverville with multiple community leaders speaking on the issues important to Trinity County residents. The Town Hall will begin at 6:30 pm, and all residents are invited to join Senator McGuire and local elected officials at a hot dog BBQ dinner at Weaverville High School starting at 5:30 pm Friday evening. Joining Senator McGuire and speaking at the Town Hall will be Board of Supervisors Chairperson John Fenley, Supervisor Judy Morris, Trinity County District Attorney Eric Heryford, representatives from the Trinity Public Utilities District and CalTrans.
On Saturday, April 22, Senator McGuire is hosting a Community Meeting in Hayfork on California Cannabis in the Prop 64 World: Regulations, Permits and Taxes – what to expect in the months to come. The Community Meeting will be held Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm at Hayfork High School. Along with Senator McGuire, representatives from the CA Bureau of Medical Cannabis Regulation, the Department of Food & Agriculture, the Department of Fish & Wildlife, the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board and the California Board of Equalization, will speak about the changing landscape of regulating the cannabis industry along with upcoming deadlines associated with Prop 64 which was approved by voters this past November.
“We’re thrilled to host both of these Community Meetings in Trinity County and are looking forward to a robust conversation on the wide variety of issues and concerns impacting our communities,” said Senator Mike McGuire. “On Friday evening, we’re joining with community leaders and providing neighbors with updates from the Board of Supervisors, District Attorney’s office, CalTrans, we’ll provide an update from the State and much more. And then on Saturday, leaders from each of the state agencies charged with implementing Proposition 64 will be briefing the community on what to expect in the months to come regarding Cannabis regulations.”
